Welcome Military Families to Kitts Hummock Beach!
Kitts Hummock Beach is located near the Dover Air Force Base in Dover. This is the first Delaware Bayshore Initiative event, a Coastal Rt 9 Byway event and a great way that our community can give back to our military families who give so much.
Welcome Military Families to Kitts Hummock Beach!
June 1st, 2013 - 2pm - 5pm
The Community of Kitts Hummock Beach, the Rt. 9 Coastal Heritage Byway St. Jones Discovery Zone and the Delaware Bayshore Initiative would like to invite military families to discover our hidden treasures. Kitts Hummock Beach is open to the public from dawn until dusk every day. However, on June 1st, the community will be providing hot dogs to military families who come to enjoy our beach.
We also hope you enjoy the rich history detailed at the John Dickinson House from 10:30am until 3:30pm. Discover the St. Jones Reserve via a scavenger hunt with great prizes provided by Old Dominion Brewery and Toppers Salon and Spa! Delmarva Board Sports will be there with Stand Up Paddle Demonstrations. We will also have a presentation about the amazing beauty and importance of horseshoe crabs and shorebirds.
